The Father’s Love
Romans 5:8-11
“But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Since therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God.
For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, now that we are reconciled shall we be saved by his life.
More than that, we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.”
A Simple but Profound Truth
Romans 5:8 is probably a verse that you’ve heard a lot. It is very simple and memorable but it also has a profound truth in it. As we heard Adam preach about the Prodigal Son these past few weeks, he talked about how the son was reconciled to his father. In the same way, we are reconciled to God by the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. It is how He shows His love for us. It is the very cornerstone of the gospel. In the passage we see our response, “More than that, we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.”
